Oral Appliance Therapy

Diagnosis

The first step towards treatment is a diagnosis. A sleep specialist can provide you with a complete sleep evaluation that is either done overnight in a test center or at home with a take-home machine. The physician will interpret the data and make a diagnosis. Feel free to call our office and we can help you through the process of getting everything you need to begin oral appliance therapy.

Treatment Options

Your sleep doctor will discuss treatment options with you. Three main treatments are positive airway pressure (PAP), oral appliance therapy, and surgery. Depending on your needs and preferences, all are viable options. At our clinic we specialize in oral appliances and have been working with OSA for over 5 years.

How They Work

Oral appliances fit like a sports mouth guard or an orthodontic retainer. The appliances support your jaw in a forward position to maintain an open upper airway. Many patients consider oral appliances to be more comfortable that a PAP mask. They are also silent, portable, and easy to care for.
